Film Acting
Lights…camera…ACTION! In this acting class, we will focus on techniques specific to acting on film. You may ask, what is the difference between stage, television, and film acting?
Well for one, stage acting is a live performance with a live audience, secondly, film acting is much more detailed and subtle than television. Less is more in film. In film acting, the actor has more time to gradually show their emotional journey in a movie, as opposed to a thirty-minute or hour-long TV show. What they do have in common, however, are the foundations of acting that will require techniques of using all the instruments of the artist: body, voice, emotions, imagination, and the five senses! We will study methods, techniques, and exercises to prepare you for your SHOT! We will journey into film scripts and learn about the key terms needed to be comfortable on set. Get ready for a close up as we explore the world of FILM ACTING!
