Slates, Cold Reads, and Monologues

Ever wanted to get into the acting business, but not sure where to start? This is the perfect class for you! In this full-immersive group class, young actors will get a crash course on everything audition related. This is a perfect opportunity to learn the where, when, what, and how of auditioning! Students will build a knowledge of basic film audition techniques, such as slating, cold reading, and monologue preparation. With guided instruction and supportive peer review, students will gain the tools necessary to enter any audition with confidence and ease. Students will learn how to create an industry-standard headshot and resume. Students will practice and perfect their audition packages, including a slate with two contrasting monologues. Students will learn tips and tricks on how to stand out and impress casting directors. There’s no time like the present to jump right into the acting business. Let’s get started!
