Introduction to Acting
Explore a dream! Has your student ever expressed interest or curiosity in acting? When they watch a movie or see a local play, do they talk about it for days afterwards? Whether your student is shy or outgoing; bold or tentative – this is a great class to learn great basic acting techniques for stage and film, and get a taste of the craft of acting.
In five weeks, through the effective use of theater games and improvisation, students will discover some of their unique strengths as young performers. Students will have the chance to practice short scenes chosen just for them. Budding young actors will also learn how to research a character, invest in the story, and connect truthfully with their scene partner.
By the end of the class, students will have memorized scenes, practiced in dress rehearsals, and showcased their work as a performance. Friends and family are welcomed and invited to the last class.
